Can everyone who reads this page write to/email the weaselly Mr Rutherford and tell him that there is a time and a place for men to show some balls and it's here, in this debate. It may not make him change his mind, but it will be bloody irritating.
I mean I can see why they didn't want to publish it given their stance because it is makes one of their journalists look like a complete chump, but it is so cowardly it begs the question of what are journalists for?
I’m a journalist. I’m human, so I make mistakes. I always correct my mistakes as soon as I become aware of them. When I criticize someone, I always allow a right of reply. Rather than making people doubt my integrity, I think both these things increase my readers’ trust.
People like Allison Morris always dive straight in to the “assault” issue because it is the least likely. Privacy and dignity are the issues that concern me, as an older woman with health problems, as every time a man entered a toilet or changing room reserved for women I would be affected. Even if he was on his best behaviour.
I’m pretty sure Allison would have been advised not to engage directly with you on reading the offer to sit down with WRN NI because she would have been told Helen Joyce knows more about the situation of Women’s rights and the transgender community then almost anyone else on the planet.
Hope she does though and you can educate her in a sisterly fashion about the reality of the argument.
Speaking as a man, it is obvious, we as a group, possess some bat shit crazy members. Of course, I am equal opportunity, and it is the same for the ladies although different. Getting back to men though, it is quite obvious to me, as a man, there is a spectrum of human behavior that moves from okay to not okay.
Starting with: (1) man attracted to other men, starts very early. Some men are prissy gay. Some are alpha gay. Best advice to them is to accept themselves. No problem. Then (2) Gay man pushes Queen Drag Events, I say, grooming impressionable kids crosses the line. It is abuse and should be treated legally in the same way. And there is (3) hetero man who decides he likes to dress as a woman, wear women's shoes, dress up as a woman, I say "That's perverted. Do it behind closed doors. I find perversions offensive. There's also (4) pervert wants to cosplay as a woman. Fine. But don't blame those you offend. You have a serious mental problem if you cannot accept yourself. And then (5) hetero man wants to cosplay as women and go to women's bathrooms, play in women's sports, gets off on the thrill of being in women spaces, and will scream and yell to preserve their ability to mess with women. To those I say, you are the ultimate abuser and should be taken off the streets, maybe placed in a mental institution, and perhaps locked up so others do not have to deal with scum like you. You are just sickos.
And (6) let's not forget the violent rapist who just hates women. (Forgive me for omitting hundreds of other perversions)
What we see is a spectrum that ranges from healthy gay to violent offender. This is both a criminal and mental health issue. Should we be tolerant? Sure, on the gay side. But not at the other end where intentional harm is common. A bit like the spectrum that exists between a person who tells white lies and the person who murders the Charlie Kirks of the world for not wanting to hear the truth. The problem is, libs stupidly confuse the challenges of dealing with spectrums with "it's all good." So now we have stupidity gone wild. Just saying. 🤷♂️
