I’ll try to get off the topic of Lynsay Watson soon — but not quite yet. Dealing with his obsessive hatred of people who won’t play along with his fantasy of being a woman is a massive pain, and I have far better things to do, but at least it has taught me a lot I didn’t previously know about what the police actually spend their time doing these days that — judging by the astonishment when I tell other people about it — hardly anyone outside policing knows. That includes legislators and criminal lawyers, by the way, who are as astonished as I was to discover that bad actors can bend the police to their will, provided they belong to favoured identity groups and know what to say.
