Lynsay Watson in Manchester on February 12th 2026
I’m about two-thirds of the way through an article about what the Arday saga says about universities, but I’ve decided to interrupt that and pick up something more immediate — largely, I must admit, because it’s put me in a foul mood, and writing about it might help. So apologies for this piece, which is basically an extended whine.
On Friday I received the paperwork as an “interested party” for yet another absurd, doomed legal action brought by disgraced ex-cop Lynsay Watson. This time it’s an application for permission to appeal against the refusal to grant him permission to bring a judicial review of the decision by my home police force not to prosecute me for what he claimed was criminal harassment against his buddy Freda Wallace — like Watson, a trans-identifying man. (Imagine having to type a sentence this stupid and irritating about something relating to you. Imagine a legal system that allows itself to be abused like this.)
